Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's existence includes football scholarship, family service and community involvement. His first family is that Selmon is the eldest of the nine children raised within Eufala by Lucious Selmon. Second football he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in all of the nation. He won two championships and 31-1-1 during his three years as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975 and designated a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the university of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy spent ten hours per week volunteering during his college years. Then he settled in Tampa after graduation, and playing for the Buccaneers for nine seasons and played three times in the all-pro league. His career in business began. In 1988, as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the 10 most notable young men across the nation. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch taller and weighing 256 pounds in college as player, commanded his team during the season of 1975. In 1993 he joined his current position at University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. Parents, Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
