April Ross
April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball stars who won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix-Klineman is set to compete alongside April Ross in Tokyo to win her third gold medal over the coming days. Ross also hopes to get her first Olympic medal. The next opportunity she gets to do so at the age of 39. Nevertheless she is confident that winning the gold medal is in reach. If we do our highest or perform well, I think we can get that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going put my faith in a touch of good luck. Ross was born August 22nd, 1982 located in Costa Mesa California. She resided there along with her entire family. Her athletic career was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of different sports. Being a pre-athlete she played indoor volleyball and track. When she played in the final sport she stood out. According to her biography, she was a middle blocker and outside volleyball player during her senior year at high school. The results of her efforts were acknowledged in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National players of the year. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her due to her volleyball skills. Ross has been working with Klineman from 2017 but her beach game was established well before the year. In reality, she's won multiple big tournaments and one of them was a volleyball superstar. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years between 2007 and 2013. Also, she coached Klineman as well as herself. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the 2009 World Championships. The duo won silver at London's Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor clinched gold ahead of them. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she retired. The pair went on to earn bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a college player for USC Trojans before the start of her professional career. She was a player in high school and in years prior to hitting the beach professionally. This was an impressive run for Ross at the university. In 2000, as a freshman she played her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year honors and was also an All-American. Also, she was one of the key players to help the Trojans reach the Final Four. Her heart was broken by a personal tragedy during her sophomore year. However, she managed to become an All-American again. Over her final two years within the team, she guided the Trojans up to the summit netting successive national titles. In her own way, she cemented her place as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. The award is given to the most outstanding female volleyball players at colleges across the United States. Ross was a USC international relations student, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the chance to watch her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. Ross's mother passed away from breast carcinoma in 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. She continues to remember her deceased parent close and dear. Margie remains a source of inspiration, both off and on of the shore.
