April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is one of a few female players of beach volleyball that be able to do so. She will be competing in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal with Alix Klineman, a first-time Olympian. Ross hopes to win her Olympic the first medal of gold, but she's also hoping to win greater. At 39, it could be her last opportunity to achieve it. But she's still confident of achieving top honours. Ross told NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, and even play well her team could win a gold medal. Also, I am going put my faith in a touch of luck. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a her sister. Along with competing in various sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete she played indoor track and volleyball. She was definitely superior to the rest when it came to the second sport. In her college profile, she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker and setter in her volleyball playing career in high school. The results of her efforts were acknowledged in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle of Champions National players of the year. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her for volleyball. Ross is playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017. However, Ross's beach game was established well before this. The American has been a major winner in competitions with different players. A couple of those is an icon in the world of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 through the year 2013. Along with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009 when she competed in the international circuit. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team which took home the Olympic gold medal in 2012 in London, beat them out to win the gold medal. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. They went on to earn the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross began her collegiate career with the USC Trojans after graduation from high school. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross hit the beach, and then became a professional. Her time in the Trojans' ranks was a memorable one. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA All-American Freshman of Year awards and was also an All-American. Additionally, she was a key player in helping the Trojans make their way to the Final Four. She endured a great personal loss during her sophomore year, however, she was able to achieve the All-American distinction. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans up to the summit and clinched consecutive national championships. For her part Ross established her status as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This prize was awarded to the top female college volleyball players in the nation. Ross was a student of the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross reach beach volleyball's highest levels. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001 when Ross was an USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. She is devoted to her late parent. Margie has inspired her in her life and on the beach.
