April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is one of the few female beach volleyball players to have achieved this feat. Alix klineman, who is playing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics, will try to earn her third gold medal. Ross will also be hoping for her first Olympic gold. As she is 39, it may be her final chance. But she's confident top awards are in reach. Ross said on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even playing well I'm sure we'll get the gold medal." Then I will also take the opportunity to try my chance. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in the year 1982. Her parents and her sister resided in the area. Ross played in numerous sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete she played indoor track and volleyball. But she stood out at this level. As per her biography in high school, she played volleyball as an outside setter (middle blocker) and the setter (outside blocker). She was named by the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999, for her performance. In 2000, she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross is currently working with Klineman from 2017 but her beach game had been established long before this. In reality, she's been a winner of numerous major tournaments and one partner was a volleyball superstar. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, from 2007 until 2013. She also coached Klineman and herself. Along together with Kessy Ross was awarded an Olympic Title in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. They took home a Silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends who won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, edged their opponents to claim the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They went on to compete for the bronze beach volleyball medal in the Rio Olympics in 2016 along with Walsh Jennings. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college years after she graduated in high school. Her time at USC was impressive. She was a All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year in the year 2000, a young freshman. Also, she was an integral player to help the Trojans to make it to it to the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss in her sophomore season and yet she went on to repeat in the ranks of an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons with the Trojans they helped achieve consecutive championships. In her own way she established herself in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the top female college volleyball players in the country. Ross studied the field of international relations in USC. Margie Ross did not get to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball level. Ross's mother died of cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. But, she will always keep her mother's memory close and close. And Margie remains a source of encouragement for her on the beach as well as in everyday life.
