April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is among only a handful of female players of beach volleyball that have done so. Alix-Klineman is set to compete alongside April Ross Tokyo to win her third gold in the next few days. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic Gold. Perhaps it is her last chance, at 39 years old. But she's still certain of taking top honors. If we play our top or perform well, I think we can get that gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. In addition, I'm planning put my faith in a touch of good luck. Ross born August 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She resided there together with her parents. At Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many different sports. Apart from indoor volleyball, she ran track and basketball as a pre-collegiate athlete. Although she was a pro at indoor volleyball, it was clear that her skills were above the average. According to her bio her high school days, she played volleyball as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and setter (outside blocker). The award was presented to her as by the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. Additionally, in 2000, she was recognized as the Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross is currently playing with Klineman since 2017. However, Ross's beach game was established well before that. The American has been a major winner in tournaments twice with different partners. One of them has become an icon in the world of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, between 2007 and the year 2013. Also, she coached Klineman as well as herself. Together, Kessy Ross was an ace on the international stage, claiming a world title in 2009. They took home a Silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. The pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC throughout her college the years prior to her professional career. Her experience at USC was quite impressive. In 2000, she was voted Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year and an All-American. The Trojans were also able to reach the Final Four with her help. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss in her sophomore season and yet she went on to repeat as an All-American. Through her two final years in the Trojans program, she guided the Trojans to winning a national title every time. The achievements of each individual have established her status as a legend in volleyball. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross played international relations as a student at USC. Sadly, Ross mother Margie was not able to witness Ross's daughter reach the highest levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross's mom passed away due to breast cancer when she was a sophomore at USC. Ross is still awed by her mother who died. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, continues to inspire her.
