April Ross
April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball athletes who earned medals at more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. Ross hopes to win more than her initial Olympic medal. There is a chance that she has one chance at winning, as she's 39 old. However, she is confident of achieving top honours. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best and even play well, she believes the team can win a gold medal. Also, I'll take the opportunity to try my chances. Ross was a Californian born in the city of Costa Mesa in 1982. She grew up in Costa Mesa with her father, mother and sister. She was able to participate in numerous sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. While a prep student she was a participant in the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball and running track. But she stood out in this sport. Her college biography states that she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker and setter in her volleyball playing career during high school. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player of 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her in volleyball. Ross and Klineman might be working on a project in 2017, but Ross was an experienced volleyball player before they came together. In reality, she's had numerous big wins as well as one of her partners was a renowned volleyball player. From 2007 to 2013, she was partnered by Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Kessy was Ross's partner on the World Championships of 2009. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. They were defeated for the gold medal by the legendary duo comprised of Misty May-Treanor as well as Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. In 2016, the pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a student athlete for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She was a player in high school and in some years before she hit the beaches as a professional. Her career was a success during her time in the college. The year 2000 was her freshman year. saw her earn the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of Award and also be named an All-American. Her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. After her sophomore year she was devastated by a personal tragedy, but was able to be named an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans up to the summit and took home consecutive national championships. The achievements of each individual have established her status as a legend in volleyball. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross who was a USC international relations major, was a volleyball star. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch Ross' daughter blossom into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. She continues to keep her mother's memory close and close. Margie continues to be an inspiration both on and off of the shore.
